WAYOUT STUDIO was born out of a collaboration between set designers, Henrique Cirilo and Emma Magidson. WayOut specializes in set design, prop styling, and creative direction for clients in fashion, advertising, and the arts.
Henrique was born and raised in the countryside of Brazil. He began his career at a large international financial company in Sao Paulo, where he worked for several years before moving to New York City to pursue a creative calling, getting his start in prop styling and production. Emma, formally trained in graphic design and architecture, began her career creating exhibitions at the Design Museum of Chicago.
The duo’s passion for inventive and imagined spaces led them to a career designing sets for fashion shoots and runway shows. The two instantly connected and found that their differing professional and life experiences complemented each other perfectly, becoming a solid mark of their work.
They focus their practice on creating new ways of bringing environments and images to life using non-traditional materials and forms. As young designers, they have embraced resourceful creative problem solving, and are interested in using their uniquely combined perspectives to enhance their work. They strive to collaborate with all parties involved in each of their projects to achieve the best possible final product.
WayOut Studio works with photographers, directors, clients and publications including, but not limited to, Norman Jean Roy, Sharif Hamza, Micaiah Carter, Quil Lemons, Lea Winkler, Christelle de Castro, Moncler, Tiffany and Co, Zara, Nike, Spotify, Vogue, Vanity Fair, L'Officiel, The Cut and Cultured Magazine.
