About the Artist

ANDREW ONDREJCAK is a unique artist whose work is at the intersection of film, fashion and theater who works between NYC and LA. Within the fashion industry, Andrew works as a creative director for runway shows, exhibitions and special live events. He is known for meticulously designed and wildly imaginative experiences. His personal creative projects link art history with contemporary iconography, often putting a queer perspective on a classical form.

Born and raised in Mississippi, Ondrejcak studied architecture and painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and later studied playwriting at Brooklyn College. His work with experimental theater led him to a career in art direction and production design.

As an artist, Ondrejcak’s work has been presented at the Guggenheim Museum and he has contributed to Carrie Mae Weems’s work at the Kennedy Center. He has performed the work of Marina Abramovic in The Artist is Present at the MoMA, in addition to holding the position as a lecturer at the MoMA from 2002-2012.
